SIX MILES

Lavinia Fisher haunts the streets of Charleston, after two centuries of being decried as a monster, a serial killer with no remorse. But this is far from the truth of her life: She was a black slave, freed through love, and brought to Charleston to run the Six Mile Wayfarer House, with the love of her life, John. However, when the government set their eyes on their land, a mob attacked and imprisoned them, and their home was burned to the ground. John escaped, and tried to free Lavinia, but to no avail- he returned, to die at her side. Even after someone else confessed to their supposed crimes, they were sent to the gallows. After a year and a day, they were hanged, dressed all in white.

HISTORY

Originally conceived in 2023 (though the idea had been percolating since 2017), the process of the research, writing, and production of this show is being recorded in a biweekly series on YouTube. Plans are to produce a one night only premiere at Twenty One Magazine, in 2026.
